Have you ever had the experience of having everything suddenly fall into place like a puzzle? That everything just worked out the way it should have? You don’t need to push up the hill…What a wonderful feeling, right? Sometimes you just feel its one of those days you get lucky and you even find the best parking in town!
What if you really wanted something and got a “No” every time? You knew not to expect anything new because you had learned from the past. I’ve heard and read many times in books that we should treat each situation individually and not jump to conclusions.
My lesson for today is not to always jump to the same conclusions because sometimes the outcomes can be different, and there are miracles! Also, everyone has a different rhythm, and everything has the right time!
It is so symbolic for me that this miracle occurred on Hanukkah in the final candle. I’ve tried many times to communicate with my ex-husband in order to talk about our daughters; I’ve followed the court orders, but I’ve had no luck. For years, the girls suffered as a result of our inability to communicate.
I just let it go because I knew the pattern and moved on with my life, deciding not to get worked up every time I dealt with things related to my ex-husband.
You can’t change a person. He is what he is, and the only person who can change the attitude is me!
So, we went to his house for the first time to light the 8th candle after I haven’t communicated with him in at least two years. I initiated it several times, and this time he agreed and finally responded. This is a miracle for my daughters, who have had enough of their parents not communicating at all.
I’m grateful that we both moved on with our lives, and even though I did not say a word while being there, it still brought me a little happiness!
