How many of you would like to be inspired every day?
I found it challenging sometimes to be inspired every day, especially in these uncertain times. Covid and other issues can naturally weigh on our minds, but we can also seek out the things that brighten and inspire us instead. We can make a difference in the world if we are inspired.
So, how do we get inspired? What is it out there that can motivate us, and how do we keep the inspiration going? Before we get into the specifics, let’s take a look at what inspiration is and how it affects each of us individually.
Understand what is an inspiration for me?
According to the Cambridge dictionary, Inspiration defines as:
“someone or something that gives you ideas for doing something”.
According to the definition, it appears that inspiration is a process. We are not simply inspired; we are inspired by someone or something that triggers us.
Random activities like writing a blog, listening to music, taking a walk, or going to the gym can inspire people. We can also be inspired by our own actions, such as going to the gym or writing a song, or building something.
We are all unique and are inspired by various things. What works for you may not work for others. I guess we’ll have to dig a little deeper to figure out what motivates and inspires us. It is, once again, a process and a growth.
When you’ve found something that inspires you, think about how your body feels. Do you feel a newfound radiance in your heart? What’s going on in your head? Do you see clearly? How are you feeling? Do you think you can run a marathon with all the energy you’ve pumped into yourself? If any of these examples resonate with you, you are being inspired!
Can anyone get inspired?
The good news is that everyone can be inspired!
There are times when we look for those things that will uplift and inspire us so that we can change our way of thinking when we are feeling stuck in a situation or blocked with ideas. We can find inspiration in the smallest things in life if we just look for it.
If you’re reading these lines, it means you’re ready to be inspired and to take action.
I’ve found that when I take a break from my daily routine and meditate, I’m able to come up with new ideas. I only need to decide it is time for me to stop.
How to get started and be inspired?
I’ve discovered that when I’m alone and there’s silence when everyone else is sleeping, or even when I’m at the coffee shop, I can focus better and get inspired. We should first create an environment in which we know or can find out what works for us. Then, as follows, a few questions or actions can be taken:
1. Take a break and spend some time with yourself, even if you don’t seem to have the time. In some ways, routine is beneficial, but it can also lead to exhaustion. We can avoid this by connecting with ourselves for even five to ten minutes twice a day.
2. Listen to Meditation or practice yoga. Meditating can help you get into a new mental state and clear away any mental clutter. It may take some time before we can fully focus our attention, and it’s fine if our thoughts come and go, so don’t resist. You’ll get there in the end.
4. Walk in nature. Explore the outdoors. Hiking or going for a walk in the woods is a great way to appreciate nature’s beauty. Observe your surroundings, let the colors wash over your senses, and listen to the birds and wind.
3. Remind myself who would I am. Remind or ask yourself what else you need in your life in order to feel complete. Consider a time in your life when you were particularly proud of something you did, and then ask yourself: What values were present and how important were they to you?
4. Searching. Sometimes all you need to discover what is inspiring you is by searching. You may have heard about a good book and you can google it. I can recommend, for example the book “Letting go” by David R. Hawkins or perhaps a daily one – Opening Doors Within: 365 Daily Meditations from Findhorn by Eileen Caddy
Alternatively, you can watch a good video or a movie or just put on your headphones and listen to a song that lifted your spirits!
5. Just start doing. Sometimes all you need to do to get inspired is to get started! Gather your materials and get to work, because doing generates inspiration! Simply picking up a pencil and beginning to write a poem, cooking a dish you’ve always wanted to try, running, reading a book, or having a conversation with someone can have a profound impact on your life.
It’s all up to you, so go for it!
How to maintain inspiration?
The first step, in my opinion, is to decide and dedicate the time for yourself. then, just do. Millions of excuses will be made to keep us from doing it, but we are stronger than that! We’ve realized that something isn’t working for us, and we’re wondering what we can do to close the gap.
Reading, going to the gym, listening to music, creating something, listening to others, changing our environment, and getting out of our comfort zone can all help to keep us inspired!
In order to find inspiration, we must first invite it into our lives and then recognize that it is always present, waiting for us to seek it out.
Now what?
Now, it’s your turn. In this post, I’ve discussed several ways to get inspired, and everyone can be inspired.
I’d like you to give it a shot and see what happens. Make a new effort every day. See what the world has to offer you by opening your eyes.
Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have about this post, and I’ll be happy to share my knowledge and point you in the right direction. I’m here for you.
Visit waterways,
Watch dogs play at a dog park,
Take off your shoes to feel sand/dirt/grass/rocks.
Drink good coffee.
Hi Julianne, I totally relate to that! I think it’s so individual and as long as you know what makes you inspired, just keep doing it 🙂
Between us, a day without a coffee could be tricky…
